Assassins Creed 2 (PS3): Unable to climb corner turret

During the Altair Interlude in Acre, whilst chasing the woman target, I cannot climb the corner wall turret/tower. I can get to a side platform which has a jutting post with a bucket on it but am unable to climb onto it to precede up the tower. Very frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated.

From the door of the balcony go towards the ledge, climb ledge, turn around so your facing door, hold R1 and jump without touching your analog that should reach the lamp area. From tech support ubisoft, I called them for this issue
