Windows 7 upgrade issues

I have had 8 attempts at trying to upgrade my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 without success. It upgrades almost to the end and suddenly rejects the upgrade and reverts back to Vista.
My compatability report advises me to update my driver for the keyboard filter and uninstall Skype. I have checked and my pc (Compaq Presario CQ60 32-bit) has all the up to date drivers and I don’t have Skype. Anybody got any ideas as I’m getting slightly peed off with it?
