Toyota Salora: Sticking Gas Pedal

I have a 2000 model Toyota Solora. I have been experiencing sticking in my gas pedal. It does not do it all the time nor does it accelerate on its own. However, my problem has been when I start to pull away I have to push my accelerator harder in order for my car to move. This has caused me to back up faster at times than I would have normally. I think maybe Toyota needs to recognize there may be a problem with the engineering of the gas pedals themselves, even in some of the older models.
