HTC Dream, how can I download Android phone software

Hi,
I’m new here. I want to ask how can I download Android phone software to my notebook/laptop. I just bought a new HTC Dream handphone. My laptop requires Android phone software to succeed in installing my HTC Dream to my notebook.

What will I do?

Please reply urgently coz I need it very badly.
