We have all seen the news over the last few months, one moment we hear that the Xbox 360 will get a Blu-ray drive and then the next minute we see Microsoft denying this.

So, if by some miracle it happens. Would you upgrade your existing Xbox 360 to a new one with Blu-ray drive and if you do not own one, then will you buy one with a Blu-ray drive?

Why bother? If I want a Blu Ray player I’d be better off buying a standalone player with true bitstream output. Being a blu-ray player is hardly doing Sony any favours with their PS3. MS should stick to what they are doing well - offering a great games machine.

No point for them to do that. Why would they pay Sony for Blu-ray?

I would have bought a blue-ray add on from the xbox 360. I did not know that their was any differance between what they would offer and a stand alone blue ray player. as it stands they did not come up with an add on so I had to by a PS3.

It would actually be cool to have a blu ray player in the 360. The hd drive ms has out doesnt look so good but a built in blu ray would make the 360 even better

Why vote YES for Blu-Ray built into the 360? What, do you want the 360 to cost as much as the PS3? There goes sales and for what? Your NOT going to start buying games on Blu-Ray, DVD is the standard already and you can’t split the marketplace, it just doesn’t work on consoles. The PS3 is no longer the best Blu-Ray player, most stand alone players beat it these days in price and picture quality, hell the PS3 can’t even bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, my $199 Panasonic Blu-Ray player which I got 2 free Blu-Ray movies also does, and supports all the latest Blu-Ray features like BD-LIVE.

Again, why have a Expensive 360 up against the PS3, th PS3 would then be the better deal because at least the games use the Blu-Ray disc, and it has built in Wireless, the 360 needs to keep the price DOWN. So this leaves HD Movies. You can spend $20-$40 for a Blu-Ray movie, or soon stream Instantly 1080P movies from LIVE at the $5 or whatever cost it is. All of the movies they have, not like now where they are all in SD, with some in 720P HD. So why even bother with Blu-Ray? That’s really Sony’s thing.

The HD DVD drive being external at least kept the 360 price down, and made it a optional feature for those that wanted to watch HD DVD movies cheaply. It would have to be a external Add-On as the only way to go for Blu-Ray with the 360, but again, WHY? A stand alone player is just going to be better. Keep the 360 Blu-Ray free. There is really ZERO reason for the 360 to have one. Streaming is the Future.

Puting a blu-ray on Xbox 360 would be the best thing that Microsoft would do, doing so would make Microsoft even better and selling more than Sony. I had a Xbox and that was the best system that ever came out now I own a Xbox 360 which is even a better system. Sony did a good job on the Playstation 3 but to me I go Xbox all the way, that’s just me.
