Whatsapp Video Calling activation with 2.16.17 notes

By Alan Ng - Nov 16, 2016

Whatsapp Video calling has finally arrived for all users! The exciting feature has been in beta testing for a number of weeks but now with Whatsapp update 2.16.17 the feature is live for everyone.

We know many of you are asking how to activate whatsapp video calling, but actually it couldn’t be more simpler.

To get video calling on Whatsapp, go to the App Store and update to version 2.16.17 – it should only be around 100MB in size.

Once you are running Whatsapp on this new version, simply go to the contact who you want to call and you will notice that there is now a phone icon beside their name.

On Android it is a phone icon and you can then select either voice or video from a drop down menu. For iOS users, it will be a video camera icon and you just click it to start a call – it’s as easy as that.

You can see from the Whatsapp 2.16.17 update notes that GIF search has also been integrated into Whatsapp which is another fantastic feature.

We’ll be going into detail on using Whatsapp GIFs at a later point, but for now the focus is on video calling.
