Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop: Large 17 inch Screen not for mobility

Since I brought my first Dell computer I have always known them to be good value for money and solid builds and for me this has carried on over 3 computers and two laptops. I have had problems with the last Dell XPS laptop, but they were fixed for me without pain. This is the Dell Inspiron 1720 which has a nice large 17 inch screen and as such is not ideal for being a mobile computer, but if its for using around the home then its ideal.

As with most Dell laptops you can customize them to your hearts desire and the one we made up included High Definition Audio 2.0 sound, a Lithium Ion 6 cell Battery, Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card, CD / DVD writer drive, 250GB SATA 5400RPM Hard Drive, 3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 memory running at 667MHz, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, Anti-glare widescreen 17.0 inch display, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache and it runs on Windows Vista Home Premium.

You can also change the color, but the Jet Black looked just fine. (There is pink for the ladies as well). This is a solid laptop although because the placement of the power adapter input is on the back, it can be a target for getting bent around too much if the laptop is used on the couch or other not level working surfaces. If you want to be really picky then you may not like the latches that keep the laptop closed, as they are big and unattractive.

The Dell Inspiron 1720 combination we put together costs $949.00, you will have to add shipping to that figure and you can visit dell here for more information and options.
