Motorola Jay-Z-branded MOTOROKR S7-HD Bluetooth headset

Celebrities know that their names are also a brand for making money and Jay-Z is no different. Today we see another product that’s branded with Jay-Z; this is the Motorola MOTOROKR S7-HD Bluetooth headset.

This information was found by some documents that showed up on the FCC, you can view that information here.

Although these headphones have been branded with the name Jay-Z, its not confirmed that they are for the rapper (if not we can see a court case coming). The headphones are most likely branded with the cooperation of JayZ, as this is not the first (remember the Dr. Dre headphones).

The FCC filing shows that these JayZ headphones can be used with your Bluetooth cell phone and Bluetooth audio device at the same time.

What do you think of these JayZ headphones compared to Dr. Dre’s?

Hands on with the Jabra JX20 Pura headset

Over the past few years I have had a number of Bluetooth headsets, some I am too embarrassed to mention. Now I have had the chance to put something with a bit more quality in my ear. The earpiece that I am reviewing today is the Jabra JX20 Pura, this earpiece has been designed by Jacob Jensen.

It was just two years ago when Jabra wowed us with their JX10, this headset was small and elegant. Jabra has done it yet again with the JX20. From the moment I started to remove the Jabra JX20 Pura from the box, I could tell that although it was light the quality of the build was remarkable. You really have to hold one of these Bluetooth headsets in your hands to get an idea of just how light it is

Jawbone II Bluetooth Headset: less battery life

Jawbone II is the second generation Bluetooth headset from the company, it is smaller than the old model as well as lighter and offering improved sound quality. On first glance Jawbone II looks all set to be a winner.

The first Jawbone was loved as it was simple in design, it did not rely on flashy looks. The old model was thin and sexy yet still managed to stay functional; you would have been mistaken for thinking that it was a piece of ear jewelry.

Many people still moaned that the Jawbone was still too heavy; this has led to the smaller lighter jawbone II. This is the same device, but smaller and does not have a huge ear hook like the old model. The Jawbone II is 50% smaller.

This Bluetooth headset is smaller and that comes at a price, as the battery life is a lot less. Expect to get 7 days standby and 4 hours talktime.

The Jawbone II will cost $130, for more information visit Yanko Design

As we all know there are now new driving laws out, which means that if you are found to be talking on your cell phone while driving, there will be heavy penalties to pay.

This new law has seen an increase on Bluetooth headset sales, especially from Plantronics, as drivers are going made trying to snap up one of these Bluetooth headsets, just to comply with the new laws which came into effect in California and Washington State on July 1.

As sales have now increased, Verizon Wireless store in San Mateo, Calif. has had to add a whole new section just for these headsets. Aari Jethmal, Verizon Wireless store manager has said “The shelves have been cleared and restocked and cleared and restocked.”

The new law which stipulates if you drive while talking on your handheld cell phone, you will then face stiff penalties.

Plantronics along with other Bluetooth headset makers has welcomed this new law, this headsets used to be in low demand but it just shows how one law can change the fortunes of a gadget.

Xlink Bluetooth Gateway
Grace Digital Inc., a leading manufacturer of audio and telephony consumer electronics, is now shipping their new line of XLINK CELLULAR GATEWAY allowing consumers to integrate their cellular phone service with their home phones via a cell phone’s built in Bluetooth connection.

Never miss a cell phone call again! Connect XLink to your home cordless phone. Turn on your bluetooth cell phone and wirelessly connect to XLink. It is as simple as connecting a bluetooth headset or car kit to your cell phone. Now, all the phones in your house will ring when your cell phone rings.

Do you want to make an outbound phone call using your cell phone minutes? Simply pick up your cordless phone, and dial like a regular phone call. XLink will connect your call to your cell phone and automatically use your cell phone minutes.

Do you have poor cell coverage in your home? Place your cell phone and XLink in a location in your home where there is good cell phone coverage (upstairs office, kitchen, or bedroom). Now any phone in your home, even in your basement, can receive and place cell phone calls on your regular home cordless phone system.

The XLink is available in two models. The ITC-BTTN (MSRP $169) which connects up to 3 cell phones and 1 phone line. Or if you want to get rid of your monthly home phone service completely and only use your cell phone service, the ITC-BT (MSRP $159) is perfect for you. Both models connect to any Bluetooth enabled cell phone and any cordless or corded telephone.
