Why do gamers dump on systems? Xbox 360, Sony PS3 & Nintendo Wii
July 23, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

We see it all the time, whenever some news is reported on Product Reviews, N4G, Digg, Game Trailers and other sites; gamers have to run each games console down.
Why do some gamers have to dump on systems? The Xbox 360 has its advantages over the Sony PS3 and also the other way round; the Nintendo Wii makes up in gameplay what it lacks in graphics.
We can understand why some people will hate a certain system, I personally had RROD on my Xbox 360 and although that was a downer, you cannot knock how good Microsoft’s software, in game chat and other cool features are.
Why do you think we see gamers compelled to run down another games system that they may have not even owned?
Just looking at a post yesterday about a guy called Chris who CLAIMED to have worked on the first Xbox 360 prototype and has now switched to the Sony PS3, while this is a rumor about why RROD may have happened, the comments were taken over by console bashing.
It’s getting much more common today for this type of console bashing to happen between gamers, lets try and keep things more clean from now on. Have you had enough of people just running down consoles for the fun of it?
Nintendo Wii friend code privacy problem
July 22, 2008

How do you feel about the Nintendo Wii friend codes? Do you think there are problems, well Nintendo think so and have said friend codes aren’t perfect.
They would love to add features that many of you may have already suggested but have one major problem that involves children using the Nintendo Wii.
Privacy online is a big issue and even more so if we are talking about the younger gamer, Nintendo know this and it’s the one thing stopping them improving Wii friend codes.
They do not want children getting harassed and Nintendo want to assure people that safety and security of the gamer comes first.
The Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 have universal I.D.s across all online games, but the Nintendo Wii takes security more seriously and makes gamers insert a 12-digit friend code to play friends online.
If you wish to play strangers on the Wii it will be without the use of codes, we are hearing that improvements will be coming soon to the friend code system on the Wii. You can view other Wii News here.
What would be a good way for Nintendo to protect gamer privacy and encourage community on the Wii?

Review of Nintendo Wii Sports Resort
July 21, 2008

The first game that came with my Nintendo Wii was Wii-Sports, although the graphics were basic, the gameplay was far from that. Millions of people have spent countless hours playing Wii Sports and now its about to get an upgrade.
The new Wii Sports Resort is coming to Nintendo’s games console in Spring 2009; it will add many extra features, games and improved graphics.
Game People have given the game a rough review and answered some popular questions like the one below:
What Does This Game Add to the Genre?
Wii-Sports Resort continues the tradition set by its predecessor of enabling gamers of all ages to play sports games without complex controls and button presses. Even though the original Wii-Sports was a big success, it at times struggled to keep track of your exact movements. Wii-Sports Resort with MotionPlus, provides much more accurate controls. This is seen in the one-to-one relationship between the player and the on screen character. This means players to replicate real world motions to perform in the various sporting activities.
This game complements the activities in the original Wii-Sports game with a range of games. Frisbee requires that you precisely match angle and momentum to throw a disc towards a target so your Nintendogs-like pooch can catch and return it. Jet Skiing is more familiar in video games, although here you use the MotionPlus enabled Wii-Mote and Nun-chuck as the handle bars, controlling both throttle and direction. Fencing shows off the new Wii-Mote’s accuracy as you face up against other opponents, or the sword play mini games.
Other questions addressed include What Sort of Game is This, What do People Play this Game To Experience, How Much Free Time is Required to Play It and What Factors Impact on Suitability for Novice/Expert Young/Old Players.

Nintendo brings Wii Music this holiday season
July 16, 2008

When this holiday season starts the three main games consoles are going to be launching their best products to get your attention, today we hear what Nintendo will be bringing this season.
Nintendo’s Wii Music will feature around 60 instruments that you can play by using the Wii controller to mimic playing movements, giving the user a much more interactive and calorie burning experience.
The new Wii MotionPlus accessory that we mentioned yesterday will be taking advantage of in a new game called Wii Sports Resort, this game will feature extra precision compared to existing Wii controllers.
Families will also love a new game for the Wii called Animal Crossing: City Folk, perfect for all the family, in this version you can create your own character and follow them in a much larger city.
The new Animal Crossing game will feature a new microphone called WiiSpeak, this lets users interact online by chatting with each other while playing.
The Nintendo DS has always been aimed at the younger gamer, but this holiday season will see Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars come to the portable DS gamer.
Nintendo Wii Remote Motionplus: Lightsaber game coming
July 15, 2008

For those of you who have been waiting for a lightsaber game, you will be pleased to hear that we could be getting a step closer to it. Nintendo have now announced a new accessory for the Will called Wii Motionplus.
This new attachment which fits on to the bottom of the Wiimote allows for more accurate responses to the motion that the player makes. Nintndo say that this new attachment will do a better job of “reflecting motions in a 3-D space”.
According to Slippery Brick, the Wii Motionplus fits to the bottom of the controller and works in conjunction with the controller’s accelerometer and the Wii sensor bar, Nintendo say that with all three working together, the motion of the players hand and arm are true 1:1 response.
This is the kind of technology that is needed for many first person shooter games, as well as the long awaited lightsaber game that Wii fans are hoping for.
Although the standard Wii Remote does a great job when tracking your hand and arm movements, it can sometimes be a little shaky. The Wii Motionplus add-on improves the precision of those movements, this will be a great help to so many games.
At this moment there are no details on pricing or a release date.
Is the PlayStation 3 More Popular than the Nintendo Wii?
July 5, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3

The Sony PlayStation 3 games console aims at a totally different gamer than the Nintendo Wii but today PS3 Daily ask the question “Is the PlayStation 3 More Popular than the Nintendo Wii?”
As an owner of both 7th generation consoles I know how good both these systems are and also I personally use them for different types of gaming, the PS3 gets used more when I am on my own and the Wii when we have guests.
PS3 Daily looks at the features of both the Wii and Playstation 3, they take a look at the inside of these machines and what makes them tick.
If you do not own either of these games consoles and are thinking of buying one, remember that your choice of the Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3 will boil down to your gaming habits and, of course, your budget.
If you’re a casual and family oriented gamer then the Wii is a cost-effective solution, but if your gaming tastes involves high performance and graphically rich gaming then the Playstation 3 is an altogether better solution. Read PS3 Daily’s take on what’s more popular of the two.
Nintendo Wii Balance Board Controlling Robot: Real or Fake
June 30, 2008
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming, Nintendo Wii

Now the video below if real is pretty cool of a man standing on a Nintendo Wii Balance Board controlling a robot, basically the man moves on the Wii Board to control a little robot that is so slow it will bore you, but there could be a need for it.
If the robot had big guns on it that would be cool, or even better the armed forces could use this to control tanks and other stuff to keep men and women safe, now that would be an achievement. The little robot does seem pointless but nether the less still pretty cool. Now whilst watching the video look carefully when it gets to the end, when the man kneels down on the floor, “Is that a remote control I see in his hands? Now this makes me want to ask “Is this all real or fake. Keep watching the video, yes it does get boring but wait till the end because I am sure he is using the remote control for the robot, or maybe he is using the remote for the laptop.
Is the man really using the Nintendo Wii Balance Board or is he using the remote control, watch the video and decide for yourself. Like the idea though, come on we want more concepts, what would you like to see the Wii Board control?

World Exclusive Video Trailer of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels: Is this for you?
June 24, 2008
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming, Nintendo Wii

The video below is pretty nice when you watch it and that is all thanks to the power of Wiimote, the announcement of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels may be exciting to some but to some not the case but the fact that it is a immersive Wiimote-as-lightsaber game surely this puts a little fun into the game.
Personally this game is not on my top ten list, I have the Wii, the 360 and the PS3 and always by titles and this Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is not one I will be buying; it is not what I call a fantastic game. Ok it seems fun but seems a lot of hard work for me. Many of you will hate the fact George Lucas is not doing it, this would not make a good movie not alone a good game, ok yes a lightsaber game for Wii is a good idea but come on we need something that actually looks a little bit like Star Wars. I love Star Wars to bits and I mean I really love it, but for some reason this game does not get my juices flowing.
I would love to know what you think about Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, please watch the world exclusive video trailer below and then let me know what you think.
Is this game for you?
Call of Duty 5 World at War release date confirmed for fall: December 31, 2008
June 24, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, PC Games, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.
Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.
“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools - like co-op and the flamethrower - to succeed in the epic fight.”
Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively - if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War - they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.
Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com
Are you looking forward to this game, or are you disappointed that it is based around WWII?

Nintendo Wii version of Call of Duty 5: Multiplayer, co-op and zapper
June 23, 2008

Call of Duty 4 has taken over online gaming on the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360, but with the battle for high quality graphics between them two games systems, some people do not think much about the Nintendo Wii when it comes to COD. The Wii has more people playing it than any other games console and while its graphics are nowhere near as good as the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, its gameplay is second to none.
Today we are hearing that the Nintendo Wii version of Call of Duty 5 will have multiplayer, co-op and zapper action. Any game can get boring quick as soon as you have completed the singer player game, for games to last you got to have multiplayer gaming for endless fun. These new features on the Wii version of COD 5 will create a lot more fun for your money.
Call of Duty: World at War will be brilliant, it could have been a modern combat game but WWII will still be very good and I am sure the graphics and gameplay will also take on a new lease of life. The Nintendo Wii will get a ported version of the Modern Warfare engine and the support for the Wii Zapper will give that arcade feel in your home.
The graphics on most Wii games might be just “OK” but we are hearing that the Wii’s COD5 will “look better than any Wii game”, according to Senior producer Noah Heller. He went on to say that World at War will be the best shooter that the Wii has ever seen and that it will be aiming for the name of “most next-gen Wii game ever”.
This has got to be good news for Wii owners that want that extra touch to graphics, but then if you are a Wii gamer you will know that graphics was never the reason you bought the console, its all about the gameplay and the Zapper, multiplayer and co-op will bring it.

This is one for Star Wars fans that own a Nintendo Wii or DS; the new CGI Star Wars games will be heading to the popular Wii games console and also DS portable gaming system this holiday season. This information has come from “departing LucasArts employees” telling all that they know.
The game for the Nintendo DS is said to be titled “Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Jedi Alliance” and this game will see the DS stylus help two Jedi battle against the Imperial army, portable gamers will be able to experience the full power of The Force and is said to be miles better than the 2006’s Star Wars: Lethal Alliance.
The Nintendo Wii will also get a taste of Star Wars and this version of the game will obviously include many extra features thanks to the amazing control system of the Wii. The game will be called “Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels” and as the name describes, it will include some Lightsaber Dueling with the interactivity of the Wii. Some gamers would have bought a Nintendo Wii just for this upcoming Star Wars game and the intuitive Wii-remote motion controls that will immerse you in the Star Wars universe.
These two games are said to be one of the most exciting Star Wars adventures yet and project lead for LucasArts Singapore, Feargus Carroll said “Working on The Clone Wars chapter of the Star Wars Saga has been an exciting endeavor for everyone here at LucasArts”. Did you buy your Nintendo Wii with getting this game in mind?
We will update you when we get more information or a chance of a hands-on with the Nintendo Wii version of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4) helps push Sony Playstation 3 Sales beyond Nintendo Wii
June 20, 2008
Filed under Gaming, News, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3

The Playstation 3 (PS3) has beat Nintendo Wii for the 3rd time, all those PS3 gamers will be happy to know that the Sony console has outsold the Wii and this is thanks to the awesome game Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4).
The PS3 has outsold the Wii worldwide for the week of June 7th to June 14th; well this is what VGChartz has reported. To break it down this is basically the 7th time the Sony PS3 was able to outsell the Nintendo Wii in the States, but in Japan this was the 3rd time. We say the mega PS3 console sales is all thanks to the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, and with the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle for example the Wal-Mart deal which features a $100 gift card with the purchase of any PS3, you know that is an amazing deal.
We could put a number of reasons why the Sony PS3 dominated the Wii; want to hear them do you? Well how about these for example: 1) Nintendo Wii shortages, you know hard to get hold of the damn things and this could possibly be why the PS3 dominated. 2) Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle helped the PS3 sales. 3) Sony PS3 is more superior (maybe).
Why do you think the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) dominated the Nintendo Wii in sales for the week of June 7th to June 14th?
Nintendo Wii gets Rock Band : What about UK PS3 owners?
June 19, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3

Rock Band has fast become a huge success since it was released back in November on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It is a game which is heavily in demand, but it looks as if Rock Band will finally be getting a Wii release. Due to hit US shores on the 22nd June, Nintendo Wii owners will be rewarded for their patience as the Wii will receive 5 extra tracks on the disc that the 360 and PS3 did not have (Although available on DLC) . Some of the bonus material includes ‘Roxanne’ by The Police and ‘Rockaway Beach’ by The Ramones.
In a recent article on Crispy Gamer, they managed to speak to Rock Band producer Matt Kelly, to ask him various questions regarding the future of Rock Band and gave away some hints on what we can expect in future versions. When quizzed about the fact that Guitar Hero had a Aerosmith based game on the way and if Rock Band had anything similar on the horizon he stated, “We’re excited we’ve been able to provide deep musical experiences with specific artists through DLC of full albums. As for future plans, we haven’t announced anything at this time.” He did though however say that developers were “working closely with Metallica” and to stay tuned to hear more announcements on this.
As a resident in the UK I have been questioning why Rock Band has yet to be released on the PS3 over here, considering the fact that it has been out since November in the US, and not a word on the UK release I find a little frustrating. Are there any other UK PS3 owners who feel the same?

Your Mii affected by Nintendo Wii update 3.3
June 17, 2008

Nintendo have now released their latest firmware update for the Wii, update 3.3 only features a few changes, but the effects I have to say are profound. One change that you will notice from the update is with your Mii, you now have the ability to move your very own Mii creations from the usual 100-maximum storage over to the Mii parade.
What this does is delete a number of features from your Mii, from birthday details as well as the name of the creator. The biggest changes as always are happening behind the scenes, Nintendo Wii update 3.3 is the update that kills the Wii Freeloader, this is the disc that helps you play imported Wii games.
Looks like you guys using Freeloader have now finally played your cheap imports for the last time. There is yet more bad news for people who liked to cheat the system, the Twilight Hack that gamers used on Zelda; Twilight Princess has also blocked the ability to use Homebrew to operate the console.
If you still have Hombrew on your Nintendo Wii you are still able to use it, but the method in how you obtained the channel has now been disabled. So looks like people who have a Wii will now have to pay the full price for game titles, people will also have to wait a little longer before the games that they used to import become available in their country.
Let us know what your thoughts are on the new Nintendo Wii update 3.3
Nintendo Wii Fit Girl and Playboy women equal a nice workout
June 16, 2008

You may have heard about the Wii Fit girl and thought it was a form of viral marketing by Nintendo but we are hearing this is not the case. Wii Fit Girl’s real name is Lauren Bernat who is 22-years old and has become extremely popular after more than 3 million people watched her do the hula-hoop on Nintendo’s Wii Fit.
The YouTube video was called “Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit” and they could not be more right, I love the Nintendo Wii and what they have done with the balance board but watching women workout can be more fun than even using it yourself. Millions of people watched the YouTube video and this proves that women and Wii Fit go well together. It does not stop there, as other sites have started showing women working out on the Wii Fit in just swimwear.
Lauren Bernat has even got her own fan club now on Facebook just for dancing on the Wii Fit, another site that has been showing good-looking girls using the Wii Fit and Balance Board is Playboy. They have a few videos that are very tame and just show some girls doing Yoga and other workouts; these include Boxing with Wii Fit, Snowboarding with Wii Fit and a sexy yoga workout video.
This is all good for Nintendo and their new fitness gadget, viral marketing or not…more Wii sales are sure.
You can see them videos on the Playboy website, have a watch and let us know what you think of them and also if you have seen the Wii Fit Girl video.
Nintendo Wii Fit story of a former pro athlete and dancer
June 14, 2008

I’ve now had the Wii Fit for about 3 weeks and LOVE IT!! I am a former pro athlete and dancer who has been stuck behind a computer for a few years and therefore was in the worst shape of my life (although still better than most since I don’t own a car and walk almost everywhere).
In the past 3 weeks I have faithfully worked on a routine with Wii Fit with cardio 6 days a week and strength training 3x a week. I’ve had a gym membership for many years that I haven’t used in the past 3, so I know Wii Fit is way more motivating and addictive than any gym (this coming from a former gym rat, used to go there for 4 hours most days) plus buying it cost less than one month at mine. Best of all, I actually have muscles again! I’m underweight but was still flabby and now I can see the fat melting away and the jiggling stop. Plus, my weight is going up due to the newly increased muscle mass.
To top it all of, I no longer crave sugary treats like soda and cookies. When I’m hungry I find I want fruit, veggies, good proteins, etc. I was a Coca-Cola addict and haven’t touched one in over a week just because I don’t want it anymore. I’m way more in touch with my body than I have been in a long time and it’s benefiting me in every way. None of this has ever happened with any other exercise routine I’ve ever been on, including when I spent 8+ hours a day on physical activities when I was younger.
Frankly, I find it way better than the gym because it really motivates me. Even when I’m not in the mood to exercise it makes me bother and then I feel better. My old personal trainer was easier to cancel on!
Seriously, I have lots of muscle definition, less flab, and way more energy than before! If those aren’t the major reasons to get fit for most people, I don’t know what is. To top it off, I now feel ready to go back to some of my more casual sporting pursuits again, like joining my local soccer team and taking figure skating lessons as soon as I have the money. So, basically, it’s a wonderful way to jump-start your body and may even inspire you to go out and do more. What could possibly be less than excellent about that?
BTW, I’m almost 32 and think it’s especially good for us over-30s. The routines are mostly low-impact (unlike jogging or other exercises recommended in some of the comments, of course, the jogging game is the highest-impact) and don’t kill my sports-addled joints.
Of course, it only works if you commit to it, just like any exercise. That’s where Wii Fit is superior for the average person and couch potatoes, it makes you bother! I’m not saying I wouldn’t like a harder version to eventually progress to, but those are on the way according to reports. I’ve also been faithfully loggin my extra exercise and it’s wonderful to see just what I’ve accomplished laid out in front of me.
Oh, and I’ve read very good exercise books that suggest routines almost exactly like the ones you can create in Wii Fit (by alternating the exercises, either by doing a routine like mine or alternating muscle groups each day). Why is it any better to do push-ups without the game than with it, for example? The game pushes me harder than I can push myself in each exercise, making sure I hit “overload”. Fantastic! Sure, a personal trainer does the same thing but how many people can afford one? One session is often the same price as Wii Fit, two to four cost the same as the Wii itself.
And to anyone who thinks yoga is a joke, the people I know who only do yoga for exercise are in much better shape than anyone else I know. It’s not just about toning your muscles but it also has incredible benefits to your metabolism and brain/body chemistry in general that makes your whole self work better. Not to mention that it increases flexibility, making other exercise much easier and less likely to hurt you. I start off every day with yoga and it’s definitely had a huge impact on not just my posture but absolutely everything. Best of all, it’s amazing for one’s sex life! I’ll leave all the reasons to your imagination and just recommend that everyone give it a go.
The fact of the matter is, even the laziest people I know are starting to snap up Wii Fit and use it daily (or close to) and every single person is benefitting right from the start. Fantastic!
Are you going to get huge muscles from it alone? No way, but how many people are looking for that? I’m female, I want long, lean muscle with nice tone and for my true body shape to shine through. I want to look damn good in a bikini, and I’m a heck of a lot closer to that than I was 3 weeks ago. That is an accomplishment already! Wii Fit is a fantastic tool for what I want. All my other exercise gear is collecting dust while my board needs dailing cleaning from all the use it gets.
Sorry to go on and on, but I think anyone who scoffs at Wii Fit either hasn’t tried it or has unrealistic expectations.

Why play Guitar Hero when you have Aero Guitar on Nintendo Wii?
June 5, 2008

Here is a question for Nintendo Wii owners who love WiiWare, Why play Guitar Hero when you have Aero Guitar? This is a rhythm game from Yudo, a Yokohama-based developer.
Aero Guitar will be a WiiWare release and we are hearing that it’s set to launch in Japan this summer. As normal you will have to wait longer if you do not live in Japan, but we are hearing that Aero Guitar will be released in Europe and America for around 800 Wii Points (about $8).
If you are a Guitar Hero fan and own a Nintendo Wii then this game could be just what you like, the game will get you using the Wii controller to play along like your using a guitar. They also plan to add downloadable content like additional tracks that could be tied to a particular regional version of the game.
We also here that Yudo will not stop at just Aero Guitar when it comes to WiiWare content, they have other plans that include some sort of Music Community Service. If you add two words together like Community and Wii, it’s got to be good.

Can the Sony PS3 be a Nintendo Wii as well?
June 4, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3

It’s an interesting question to ask if the Sony PS3 can be a Nintendo Wii as well, while Sony would not be able to steal technology, they could do similar things and with some new software and a Wii-Remote-Like accessory, the PS3 could be a Wii.
On the 30th of May, PlayStation LifeStyle made a claim that a Wii-like PS3 controller was the subject of a secret PSU focus test. Now even if I had most of the Wii features on my Playstation 3, I still would of bought the Wii as Nintendo and their style of games are very different to the graphics and gameplay of a PS3.
Would we really want more motion control on the PS3?
Personally I do not use the SIXAXIS motion controls, I am happy with no motion at all and I leave all the moving around to the Nintendo Wii. If we do see Sony give us the option to buy another controller much like the Wii Remote, this could introduce many other games that could even be downloaded via PSN.
PlayStation LifeStyle said that the secret PSU focus test had “PS3 controllers that were motion-sensitive and required use of a “mini-tripod that stood about 12 inches high.” Mini-games, such as fencing, paintball and tennis were supposedly demonstrated. The devices were said to be incredibly responsive and accurate.”
While this is just a rumor, would you really want a Wii-like PS3 controller and how much do you currently use the motion controls?
Finally Nintendo Wii overtakes Microsoft Xbox 360 install base
May 29, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360

We all know that the Nintendo Wii is creating a massive Buzz in the gaming world and seems unstoppable in ruling the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3, while I game more on the Playstation 3, the Nintendo Wii is both amazing and gets its share of gaming time. Today we are hearing that the Nintendo Wii has finally overtaken the Microsoft Xbox 360 install base in the United States.
According to VGChartz, the lifetime sales of the Wii have passed the lifetime sales of the 360 and this is an amazing achievement considering the 360 has been around so long. With the Sony PS3 also catching the 360, it does look like the next generation Xbox is going to come third in this battle of the three next-gen games consoles.
VGChartz said the “Wii has officially passed 360 in the Americas in lifetime sales as of the week ending May 24th, 2008”, when you think it is a whole year extra the 360 had in the market place, it gives you an idea of how fast the Nintendo Wii has grown. In the Wii’s 79th week available it has reached 11.7M sales in the U.S., compared to the 360’s 11.5M in 131st week.
Can the Sony PS3 overtake the Xbox 360 in lifetime sales, considering it’s at 4.9M after it’s 80th week in the U.S.?
The Playstation 3 has had a much stronger uptake in Europe, but has grown much slower in the United States. With many more exclusives coming to the PS3 and with its upcoming Home platform, it will be interesting to see the results in another 12 months and we will be hear to share them with you.
