The five speakers all output 10W except for the subwoofer which outputs a maximum of 32W, they are also designed to not vibrate too much. The dock is compatible with most audio players via a headphone jack these audio players include the Apple iPod Touch. There is also a built in FM tuner,.

The dock is said to retail at $249 which seems a little steep, however the sound quality is said to be great.

They are also two of the least expensive. Their cost and size helps both products sell very well, as they cost less than $80 each.

Both models are ultra-compact in its design and the handy clip on both models makes them easy to travel around with. Cnet have put it simple “there’s just something irresistible about these cheap, miniature music players.”

We know that both the SanDisk Sansa Clip and the third generation Apple iPod Shuffle have basic features and they do not appeal to all, but they are great for those who go to the gym or out jogging.

Apple and SanDisk take different approaches when it comes to the design of these compact MP3 players. So if you are in the market for a new compact MP3 player, which one will it be?

The new U5 will still feature the USB key form format.

French site Le Journal du Geek has treated us to a number of images, and by the look of things will come with a choice of different colored covers. The Samsung U5 DoReMi has a track and status information displayed on its four-line OLED display.

There are a number of little features that make this little music player even better, such as its built-in FM radio tuner and a choice of either 4GB and 8GB storage capacity. The battery life on the device is rated at 18 hours.

Samsung hope that the U5 will be able to compete with the iPod Shuffle, but that could now be an impossible task as a new iPod Shuffle is already on the market.

Now what we have is a slim three-button controller on the headphone cable. This means that the new iPod Shuffle will not work unless you use Apple’s own headphones.

A number of companies have suggested that they will begin to supply aftermarket headphones with similar features of Apple’s, but these are not yet available. There were reports over the weekend from Web sites iLounge and Boing Boing Gadgets that Apple have asked that these third-party headphones will require an “authentication chip.”

V-moda and Scosche, iPod-accessory vendors along with a number of others have been speaking to Macworld and have confirmed that these reports are true. These vendors are calling the chip a control chip.” For use of this proprietary circuitry, Apple will charge these vendors a fee through the Made for iPod program.

The new Shuffle does have a few other new features, but it is the new voice feature that Apple hope will help to sell the new iPod Shuffle.

Let us look at a some of the upgrades that the new Shuffle has, firstly the device is much smaller. Apple have managed to make this the world’s smallest player by putting the controls on the earbud cord.

Storage has now been increased to 4GB, allowing you to store up to 1,000 songs. The new shuffle has one switch on its side with three positions, shuffle, straight play or off.

The main new feature is VoiceOver, if you are listing to a song and you want to know who the artist is, just hit the button and the information will be spoken to you.

We have a poll running asking if these improvements will be enough to make you upgrade, view result below. To vote click here

The Shuffle has always been the smallest from the iPod range, but the new device is half the size of the previous model.

The new iPod Shuffle is just 1.8 inches tall and 0.3 inches thin, making it the world’s smallest music player. The new model comes in silver or black and has a sleek design with a built-in clip on the rear. The new iPod Shuffle now has 4GB storage, allowing you to store up to 1,000 songs.

The new iPod Shuffle has a great new feature called “VoiceOver.” This new feature means that if you do not know the name of the song that you are listing to, with just the press of a button VoiceOver will tell you who the artist and song is while fading the music down.

The Apple iPod shuffle has a switch on the side with three positions. The left position is to shuffle your music, the position in the middle is to play the songs in order and the position to the right is to turn the device off.

The new iPod shuffle is available immediately and costs $79.

The Zen X-Fi has been given a full review by the guys and girls over at Pocket Lint (hit the read link below this post); they found that the Zen X-Fi is a “cracking player that sounds great”.

In their verdict they did comment on one problem with one of the latest MP3 players from Creative, this was because this music player doesn’t come with the massive eco-system like Apple audio players do. In fact the good points outweigh the bad, and being able to expand the Zen X-Fi up to 64GB is impressive.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s Sony were king when it came to portable music players with their Walkman range. However times have now changed and we know that there is a new king on the block from Apple.

As we know Apple has the iPod and Sony know that they just can’t touch that media player, but they hope with the launch of their E Series MP3 Players that they could compete with the Nano.

There is to be three models in the new E Series range, these include the NWZ-E435 (2GB), NWZ-E436 (4GB) and NWZ-E438 (8GB). The new mid-range MP3 players from Sony are aimed at the girly market.

The E Series comes with a 2in QVGA LCD screen and is able to play a range of files, such as MP3, WMA and AAC.

The players are just 8.5mm thick and weigh about 50g. If this was not enough to make you go out and purchase one, then Sony has another trick up their sleeve. There are rumors that the new Sony E Series MP3 Player will come with an FM tuner as well as simple drag and drop file transfers.

Will this be enough to win old Sony customers back?
