ION LP 2 FLASH can record LPs to digital format

Now this is fantastic if you have many LPs sitting around, the ION LP 2 FLASH vinyl player can record LPs to flash (digital format).

Apparently vinyl sales are on the up but many of us still prefer digital format, CDs etc, but then again there are many that still prefer the good old Vinyl 33s and 45s. The Ion LP 2 Flash turntable is something special, yes looking at it looks like a standard turntable deck but it is within that all the magic happens.

This turntable has connectors on them that allow you to plug in an SD card, USB hard drive or USB thumb drive, so in simple terms allows you to convert vinyl records into digital format. For more information please visit the ION website where you can buy it for around £130.

Sony SCD-XA5400ES SACD player showcased at CEDIA

You would have thought that Sony would have been preoccupied with current events, such as their loss in profits or their Vaio laptop recall, but that still has not stopped them from showcasing a new SACD player at CEDIA 2008.

The Sony SCD-XA5400ES SACD player will cost $1,500 price once released, but I have to wonder if people will ever purchase one of these things. So is it worth the hefty price tag I hear you ask.

The Sony SCD-XA5400ES SACD player has a 5 disc carousel; the home audio device also has 2.ch and multi-channel super audio CD playback quality. The connections at the rear are gold plated for better quality.

Panasonic SA-BX500 AV receiver debuted at CEDIA

Panasonic are to introduce their new SA-BX500 AV receiver at the CEDIA show this week, but I am not sure if audio fans will stop to look. This audio receiver is nothing special, so you might miss it and just walk past the Panasonic stand.

Maybe you should take the time to stop and have a look, because if you are an audio geek then the Panasonic SA-BX500 AV receiver will certainly push your buttons. This is because of its bi-amplification/bi-wiring feature.

So what features have Panasonic decided to go with, well how about 7×130-Watt amplification to start with. Ok so you want more, how about HDMI connectivity (3 inputs, 1 output). The receiver supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. The SA-BX500 AV receiver goes on sale in October and will cost $799.

Harman/Kardon MS 100 all-in one iPod dock

Harman/Kardon has decided to show off their new MS 100 All-in-One Audio Entertainment System. My first look shows that there is nothing special about the system, although the aesthetics are stunning.

The Harman/Kardon MS 100 was on show at IFA 2008, and it was the iPod dock, CD player, FM tuner and clock/radio functionality that got peoples attention. I have to say that after looking more in to the system I think I have fallen in love.

There is no denying that when it comes to sound reproduction, Harman/Kardon is right up there with Bose, so I do hope that the sound quality from this all-in-one system is something special.

Better Streaming: Sonos Zone Player Z90, ZP120 and BU150:

Sonos has recently announced their new products; Sonos has not announced hardware for a while now so we are taking note on these new ones. They have just announced the Z90, ZP120 and BU150 bundle.

The Z90 will set you back $350, ZP120 $500 and the BU150 bundle will be $1,000, the bundle will include both devices and the same original controller.

The main difference between them is that they now support SonosNet 2.0, which basically uses MIMO to double the wireless distance between nodes. The ZP120 is the amp-enabled aluminum-clad flagship model and is much lighter in weight which now leaves it a lot smaller than its predecessor; it will still be capable of driving 55W of sound.

Sonos are also giving us the 2.6 version of its desktop software which will index much more music than before giving a whopping 65k tracks total, it will also gibe new and existing users $200 in free music from sites like eMusic and Livedownloads.

Check out more images over on Engadget.

Sonos launch ZP120 and Z90 with SonosNet 2.0 support

We have been waiting for what seems a lifetime for a new piece of hardware from Sonos, but now the wait is finally over. Sonos is launching the ZP120 and the Z90, they are also being released as a bundle, the BU150 bundle will also come with the same original controller.

To look at the ZP120 and Z90, they are no different to other Sonos models, but it is the support for SonosNet 2.0 that improves these over other models. This system uses MIMO; this doubles the wireless distance between nodes.

For those with a keen eye, they will notice that the ZP120 has gone on a diet and shed a few pounds over its predecessor. Although it is lighter, the ZP120 portable home audio system still pushes out 55 watts of sounds.

Sonos are also launching a newer version of their desktop software, version 2.6. This new software will index more music than before, 65,000 tracks in total. The new software also gives new and existing users $200 of free music.

Visit Engadget where they have the full unboxing of these systems.
