Archos Vision mediaplayer and Android MID pricing, availability

During the Portable Media Player and Tablet Roadshow today in the UK, Archos revealed some details of their new range of PMPS. There is now a pricing for the Archos 2 Vision and the Archos 3 Vision. And a release date for the Android MID.
The Archos 2 Vision has a 2 inch touchscreen and has a built in FM radio, there is also a microSD memory card slot. The Archos 2 Vision is available in two sizes 8GB and 16GB. Read more

AgfaPhoto Waterproof DV-600uw camera

Last week we reported about the Pentax Optio W80 waterproof digital camera, well this week Agfa have announced their AgfaPhoto Waterproof DV-600uw camera. The main difference between the two cameras is that the AgfaPhoto is specifically designed to be a camera used underwater whereas the Pentax seemed to be more of a digital camera which can be submerged. Epson produces world’s smallest LCD

Epson today announced that they were starting to mass produce its 3LCD chips, these tiny LCDs have a diagonal of just 0.55 of an inch and support a resolution of 1024×768. These chips are believed to be the worlds smallest LCDs and are to be used in data projectors. Read more

It has been announced that pocket projector manufacturer BeamBox have teamed up with some iPhone charger manufacturers to create The MiLi Evolution Mini Power Projector. Details are still quite scarce however it is understood that this will act as a projector dock for your iPod Touch and the iPhone to sit in, allowing users to watch videos from their Apple devices projected on screen sizes up to around 70 inches. Pentax Optio W80 Camera: waterproof point-and-shoot

Camera manufacturers Pentax have announced they will be releasing a new digital camera, this digital camera is called the Pentax Optio W80, and is a direct competitor against Canon’s PowerShot D10. The Canon PowerShot D10 currently dominates the waterproof point-and-shoot camera market however Pentax hopes to change this.
A quick run-down of the camera shows it has a 12.1MP camera, a 5x optical zoom, and a wide-angle lens. There is also the functionality to record video at 720p at 30 frames per second and the phone has a 2.5 inch LCD display. Along with the above mentioned features it also has face recognition and shake reduction, allowing crisper photos to be taken.
In terms of robustness the camera is designed to withstand submersion in up to 16 feet of water, also it can withstand the extreme cold (up to -14 Degrees Celsius) and drops from around 1 metre. The camera is also resistant to dust.

Garmin 7×5 Series GPS: Patch to fix firmware

Zune HD: Quick hands-on review, video and gallery

A video has emerged on Engadget showing a brief hands-on review of the new Zune HD, we have previously posted reviews with images but this is the first time we have shown a video of the working product. The video can be seen below or on Engadget‘ s website.
The video shows off its robust look, along with the small design, however in my opinion the two features that stand out the most is the extremely bright OLED display and the extremely quick OS which seems instantaneous. Read more
Banned From US Import: Sharp LCD Panels

According to the Los Angeles Times a huge blow has been dealt to Sharp Corp, they have recently lost a U.S Trade Commission ruling stating that they infringe a patent held by Samsung. According to Engadget and The Los Angeles Times this has resulted in a ban on Sharp importing LCD’s into the U.S, for this ban to become effective it will have to be scrutinised by President Obama.
The infringement is said to have occurred with some of Sharp’s LCD’s (Liquid Crystal Displays) and some computer monitors, this wasn’t the only patent which Samsung felt was infringed however the U.S Trade Commission overturned the other accusation. Read more
