The new iriver NV Life has just been announced by Reincomm and we must say it is looking good with its sleek design, the reason it is new because they have got rid of the big navigation pad of the original NV for this new sleek easily portable SatNav device with PMP functionality.
The specs list is basically the same to the bigger model for example it is available either 2GB or 4GB capacities, the 2GB costs ₩328,000 (about $367) and the 4GB cost ₩358,000 (about $400).

This IRiver NV Life SiRF Star III GPS device features WinCE 5.0, FM-transmitter, dedicated SD slot, onboard flash, DMB TV (with GPS PiP support) and wide selection of codecs synonymous with the iriver name.
Some people may say this is a downside and the downside is the display which has 800 x 480 pixels covering 7-inches.

Asustek’s UMPC: Eee PC with either Microsoft Windows XP or Linux, no Vista
March 13, 2008
Filed under Computers, Ultra Mobile PC

In 2008 over two thirds of Asustek’s Eee PCs shipped will include Microsoft Windows XP (not Vista), the rest will be Linux. The reason for this change is because computer users are more comfortable with Windows and XP is a more suitable than Vista for this UMPC.
In 2007 we saw the 7-inch Linux-based personal computer with a price of only $200, this new one will be higher thanks to Windows XP and other features, it will be priced at around $390 to $400. The Eee PC should ship 5 million units in 2008, compared to 300,000 units in 2007.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-U1: Hi-K Metal Gate UMPC beater
March 4, 2008
Filed under Computers, Ultra Mobile PC

We know that the Hi-K Metal Gate is a superb UMPC; however it seems as if Panasonic might have other ideas. Their new Toughbook CF-U1 is a fully ruggedized Ultra Mobile PC. The CF-U1 runs on both XP and Vista, oh how I hate saying that word Vista.
As yet there is not much information about Panasonic’s new UMPC, but if the company says that it is a beater to the Hi-K Metal Gate, then it is sure to have some great features. One thing is for sure, these ruggedized toughbooks are less bulky than some of the older models that are on the market at the moment.
