Whatsapp 2.17.1 iOS update notes with offline messages

By Alan Ng - Jan 25, 2017

For those that haven’t heard, there has been an update for Whatsapp on iOS and it is a big one indeed. Available on Android already, we are very happy to confirm that with the Whatsapp 2.17.1 iOS update, offline messaging has finally arrived!

This means that you can now queue up messages when you don’t have a data connection, for the recipient to receive those messages the next time you do have a connection.

This is very convenient as you can imagine as there are plenty of examples when this would come in very useful especially when on holiday when you want to send messages and move around from hotspot to hotspot.

Above is the full Whatsapp 2.17.1 iOS updates from iTunes, revealing that the media picture limit has also been increased from 10 to 30.

That means you can bulk send 30 photos in one go which many of you will also be happy about, while finally the developers have also redesigned the Whatsapp storage usage screen for a better experience.

It’s a great update and the Whatsapp 2.17.1 download should be live in all regions so let us know what you think. What needs to come next to Whatsapp to beat off competition from other apps?
