iOS 10.3 update with key feature, 10.2.1 for problems fix

By Peter Chubb - Jan 3, 2017

Now that we have entered a new year there is a lot to look forward to if you are an iPhone fan, as it is the 10-year anniversary of Apple’s phone, and also iOS. This means that we should expect some big changes on September 2017; but let’s not forget that there is still a great deal of support to come for the current version of its mobile OS, with iOS 10.3 being the next big update – although 10.2.1 is needed rather soon in order to fix some continuing problems.

Apple has not yet come out and said what they plan to do about the 30% bug that is dogging the iPhone, but in order to avoid a huge backlash, an iOS 10.2.1 release date needs to be very soon, as time is running out for iPhone users patiences.

As for the next major release, we suspect that the first iOS 10.3 beta will be available for download from January 10, and Sonny Dickson, who is known as a huge Apple leaker believes that the key feature with the next update will be Theatre Mode.

So what is Theatre Mode? This latest mode is said to be added to the Control Center of both iPhone and iPad devices, and will feature a new popcorn shaped icon. While there is a great deal of speculation as to what exactly this new mode will do, nothing is certain, although Dickson believes it’s more than likely some sort of Dark Mode – albeit an enhanced version.

Further speculation reveals that this will act as one button to control the dimming of the screen, mute the audio and also switch off all notification on your iOS device, something that is perfect for use in the cinema – although it’s far easier to just switch your device off, or if not at least mute it and keep it in your pocket all the time you are in the theatre.
