It comes as no surprise to us that the new MacBook Pro with OLED Touch Bar has its haters, and it does not take much before they start going for the juggler when an issue arrises. The thing is, most laptops have their issues, but when you have to pay such a high premium the microscope is always going to be looking with more detailed scrutiny.
The latest news suggests that there is a serious shortcoming in the new MacBook Pro battery life, and as such has been causing a bit of an issue for owners. It would seem some users are experiencing shorter battery life than they were led to believe, with reports of around 30 to 60 per cent less than Apple stated.
Now, this is where things gets interesting because Macrumors readers seem divided about this, with some suggesting that it might just take the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, which is still in beta to fix the battery issues.
However, there are others that believe there is no such issue and that the up to 10 hours of battery life was just a guide. So what do they believe is the case? Well, they assume that people are just consuming the power wrong. This is because they could be using power hungry apps.
The thing is, we can see both of these being correct, but surely these owners would have tried out their new MacBook Pro laptops battery life while also using standard software, and not just those that are battery intensive?
