AT&T DirecTV Now streaming available tomorrow, with price concern

By Peter Chubb - Nov 29, 2016

Oh dear, there is yet another steaming service to add to the ever growing list, and that is AT&T’s DirecTV Now. While it was unveiled yesterday, it will not go live until tomorrow, as AT&T DirecTV Now streaming will be available on November 30, 2016.

There is a small issue though, and that is the DirecTV Now price, because some people are complaining that it’s a bit on the expensive side. The price plans start from $35 for 60 channels, although you will get 100 channels if you sign-up early. That 100 channel package will cost $60 in the future, which to many of you seems to be a staggering amount, and you have to wonder what AT&T were thinking to come up with such a high figure?

To put this into perspective, Vue costs $30 per month for 45 channels and Sling TV is $20, although this comes with even less networks. However, you do still have to wonder why anyone would wish to pay so much for such content? The problem here is that it’s several times more expensive than Netflix, yet we highly doubt there will be that many times more content to view, and so this is where DirecTV Now could face an issue.

Some people feel that by having a mix of Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and another streaming service, this would still be far cheaper than what AT&T will be offering from tomorrow, and there is far more content as well. However, maybe we should give this new service the benefit of the doubt and see how is blossoms?
