As we already know, the new Alpine (owned by Renault) is expected to be called the A120, and will be a two-seat coupé that we hope to see released sometime in 2017. The latest news is that there could be an expanded Alpine A120 range, one that will be a more performance focused model, and the other a convertible.
The latest news would suggest that these other Alpine variants are already way into their development process, and so we hope to learn more details about them in the coming months.
It will be interesting to learn the performance figures for the more performance-focused coupé variant, seeing as though the standard model being produced will come with a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine that will be able to produce around 300 horsepower and get to 62mph from standstill in less than 4.5 seconds. We’re not certain of its top speed, although we know this car will be more about its acceleration and handling ability.
While we still only have this render to look at thanks to Autocar, it would be interesting to see what an all-new convertible Alpine would look like.
