Hisense 508HC HDR update on Netflix, PS4 Pro, Xbox One S

We know a lot of you have been buying the Hisense 508HC 4K TV this month, as it’s currently one of the cheapest 4K TVs that we have seen on the market during the frantic sales period.

As we told you in our Hisense 508HC review, this model supports HDR through HDMI and USB but you may have discovered that it currently isn’t enabled out of the box after you first set it up.

The good news is that Hisense has already rolled out a Hisense 508HC firmware update that enables HDR for use on PS4 Pro, Xbox One S and also Netflix.

There has been some confusion as to whether this model actually supports Netflix HDR, but we have a video to show you below which confirms that Netflix HDR does indeed work on the Hisense 508HC.

It’s easy to get the update, simply go to your television settings, scroll to the ‘Above TV’ menu, then down to ‘Check Firmware upgrade’.

Once you have updated, you should get the ‘No new update package is detected’, ensuring that you are now running the latest version.

Next you need to go to ‘System’ then to HDMI 2.0 Format. Switch the setting to Enhanced from Standard and then go to your PS4 Pro or Xbox One S and you should be able to enable HDR mode there for gaming and also Netflix.

We know Netflix is very important to most of you, so we just wanted to give you a heads-up on this. If you have any other problems with your Hisense 508HC, let us know below.
