Google WiFi shipping begins December 6, not for UK

By Peter Chubb - Nov 16, 2016

You might have wondered why you were seeing Google WiFi all over the Internet yesterday, and the simple answer is because fresh news was revealed in regards to its rollout. Putting it’s strange design to one-side – although it does look like the volume control on a Bose speaker system – Google has finally allowed preorders to go live.

That’s not all, we also have a Google WiFi shipping date, which is to begin on December 6, 2016. While this is great news for people in the US, it’s not so much outside of the United States, as no other details have been announced yet.

People were hoping for a Google WiFi UK ship date, but as yet Google are very quiet on that subject, and so we have to play the waiting game. We presume that the company is likely to see how well this router/ WiFi extender is received before thinking about shipping dates outside of the USA.

For those that missed the Google WiFi price, we want to remind you that the cost is $129, although if you want to improve your Wi-Fi range in your home, then you can opt for the 3 pack at £300, extending the range from 1,500 to 4,500 square feet. Here are your pre-order options.

Google WiFi aims to give you a fast signal in every room, for every one of your devices. This is said to be a new kind of connected system and aims to replace your router to give you seamless coverage throughout your home.

More details on this device can be found in the video below.

Horrible article. For starters, what’s Google WiFi and why should anyone care?
