Going back a few years people in the UK truly knew Christmas was upon them when the Coca Cola truck started rolling onto our screens with the “Holidays are Coming” jingle, but not so much anymore. While we still enjoy seeing this, the time where you know the Holiday season has pretty much begun is when the TV stations finally air the latest John Lewis Christmas advert – well in the UL.
The 2016 John Lewis Christmas advert has now hit our screens and has already become a huge viral sensation, although it will be interesting to see if it will be as popular as last year’s, which was the highest viewed John Lewis commercial to date. Last year’s had more than 25 million videos on the official John Lewis YouTube channel, and no doubt millions more through other channels, and also on the TV.
So far this new ad is approaching 800,000, which is not bad seeing as though it’s not even been out a day – although find it hard to see topping last year’s.
Not one to want to miss out on a trick, Snapchat has a new Buster filter, which is actually the name of the dog that features in the new John Lewis Christmas advert. All you have to do is open up Snapchat, use the front-facing camera and then use the first sponsored lens that comes up, which is of Buster. If you raise your eyebrows as well a squirrel will bounce over your head.
