Indecisive 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 buyers, longer option for redesign

By Peter Chubb - Nov 1, 2016

There is a great deal of excitement for those of you waiting for the new Ram 1500 pickup truck, as Dodge is all set to release the model redesign in 2018. However, if you are feeling indecisive and feel as though the current model is more to your taste, then you will be pleased to learn that Dodge will keep selling the current model up until 2019.

This is great news for those of you that are not too happy about the new model, and feel the current generation Dodge Ram 1500 has more to offer. We are not certain how the two will compare price wise, but you would presume the new 2018 model would carry a higher price tag because of the changes being made.

So often we have seen carmakers released a fresh new model, only for it to not go down well with those faithful to that model of vehicle, and long for the time they were able to get the older version. We do feel as though Dodge have come up with this decision with some input from Chrysler, as a way to keep their clients happy, and we do wish more car companies would take this approach.

However, Autoblog has learned that this move is aimed more toward fleet buyers, as they need to keep them onside, and that would seem to make perfect sense to us.
