Best soundbar under £200 in the UK for 2016

By Peter Chubb - Oct 14, 2016

While the visual quality of TVs get better, the same cannot be said for their sound. Ok, they do sound good, but they do lack depth, and so what’s the point of being able to watch a movie in 4K UHD, while you are unable to immerse yourself in awesome sound? This is where the soundbar comes in, as you can add more depth to the sound, without taking up too much space in the room that houses your TV.

The good news is, you do not have to spend a small fortune to enhance your viewing experience, as there are some decent enough soundbars out there that will only cost you £200 or less in the UK.

Choosing the best soundbar under £200 in the UK for 2016 – There are so many soundbars out there that it’s often hard to make the right choice, and so we will try to make things that bit easier by narrowing things down for you.

denon-dht-t110-bluetooth-speaker-base

Denon DHT-T110 Bluetooth Speaker Base – Even though this is the 2015 model, it’s a more than capable TV speaker base that will improve your TV watching experience dramatically. This device will fit under most TVs up to 50 inches and comes with a host of features, such as Dolby Digital Decoding, 3 Listening Modes, Bluetooth. More details can be found here, and as for its price, you should expect to pay around £130.

bose-solo-5-tv-sound-system

Bose Solo 5 TV Sound System – is the next soundbar that we thought you may wish to consider. You know that with a name like Bose you are getting something of superb build quality, and so features such as high sound quality, dialogue mode to make every word and detail stand out, Bluetooth connectivity and a universal remote are to be expected. As for its price, this is a little more expensive than the model above, although its reviews are better. The cost you should expect to pay is around £180 to £200, with more details available on the Bose website.

wharfedale-bluetooth-vista-100-soundbar

Wharfedale Bluetooth Vista 100 Soundbar – back in the day the name Wharfedale was one of the best out there, and we can remember fitting a few pairs of after market speakers to our cars. However, times have changed, and they are not the big brand they once were. However, the company still knows how to produce good speakers, and so it’s for this reason we had to include this model on to our list. This offers excellent sound quality for such a low price, and has been manufactured to a high standard, and far more robust to similarly priced items. You should expect to pay around £150, and if you are looking for more details, then we ask that you visit the Wharfedale website.

Some other models worth your consideration are the LG RMS HDMI USB Bluetooth Soundbar Subwoofer, Philips 2.1 DTS Channel Surround Sound Soundbar and the Sony HT Wireless Bluetooth Soundbar Colour LED Light. These are just a few that we thought you might consider, but if you have any more ideas, then please let us know in the comments section below.
