Upgrade to macOS Sierra, Apple now lists why

By Peter Chubb - Sep 10, 2016

Since Apple’s Special Event the other day, where the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were revealed, along with the Apple Watch Series 2 and improvements to iWork, we have now seen a few changes made to Apple’s website. However, one that seems to have been missed by some of you are the new macOS Sierra additionsone of which is a new icon right at the top of the page when you select Mac.

This takes you to a page dedicated to everything about the upcoming desktop operating system update. However, it’s not until you scroll right down to the bottom that you get to the part where Apple lists why you should upgrade to macOS Sierra.

The main reason they say is because it gives you a set of new features that will make using your Mac more enjoyable and efficient – though we have been promised this with past updates and we tend to get a few teething issues for a while.

While we would love to say this will not happen with the next update, we suspect that there will still be plenty of macOS Sierra problems, but what they will be this time is anyones guess.

You then have a new link that aims to teach you more, which is, “Learn more about upgrading to macOS Sierra“. This is a way to prepare you for the update, which will be ready for download on September 20, 2016. Here you can check your Mac for compatibility, make certain that you are ready for the upgrade, and also a huge list of what’s included, such as applications, utilities, and supported languages.

Do you plan to upgrade right away, or will you wait for the first update to fix those early bugs?
