A great deal of anticipation is building for Apple’s Special Event next week, and not just for the iPhone 7, but also for the Apple Watch 2 as well. While we do not know for certain that the 2nd-gen model will be announced, recent news of the Watch almost completely sold out does pretty much confirm that an update is coming.
Apple Watch 2 shipping delay expected – There is no questioning how desirable the second generation model is, and therefore we suspect that Apple will be inundated with preorders of its new wearable for 2016. The thing is, when Apple first released its Watch last year no one realised just how popular it would become, although there were some fundamental features missing, and so those now need to be addressed.
When the current Apple Watch was released in April 2015 there were shipping delays because of its early popularity, and so we have a feeling we will see a repeat of this. However, you would think that Apple knows this and would have already increased production to counter this.
Having said that, there are skeptics out there that believe the likes of Apple limit production as to cause stock issues leading to delays in shipping, as this increases demand and desirability.
It’s worth noting that these low stock levels have only been reported in the US, as the UK currently has decent levels of stock – we do hope this does not mean the next Apple Watch will be released in the United States first, going back to Apple’s old ways?
