OS X 10.11.6, iOS 9.3.3 update to release next month

By Peter Chubb - Jul 14, 2016

While most of the talk about Apple operating systems seems to be focused on macOS Sierra and iOS 10, let’s not forget that the OS X 10.11.6 and iOS 9.3.3 updates are still due in a matter of weeks.

The OS X 10.11.6 upgrade and iOS 9.3.3 update is most likely to release next month, although the exact date in August is still unknown at this time. However, we can look back to last year to get a rough idea of when we think its release will be.

OS X 10.11 public beta release

We have reason to believe that the actual release time for OS X 10.11.6 and iOS 9.3.3 will rollout 10AM PT, 1PM ET and 6PM in the UK. As for the date, if we are to go on last year, then August 11, 2016 is a good possibility. We say this because the iOS 8.4.1 and OS X 10.10.5 were released on August 13, which was on a Thursday, which is a typical day for Apple to update their operating systems.

It’s this reason why we say August 11, as this is also a Thursday this year, although this is based on mere speculation.

What we do know is the fact that OS X 10.11.6 and iOS 9.3.3 will be the final updates for OS X 10 and iOS 9 before the newer versions are released in the fall.
