No Galaxy Note 6 camera revolution, not even S8

By Peter Chubb - May 2, 2016

Samsung had made a few enhancements with their Galaxy S7, although nothing on the scale that had been rumored. This has then lead to new rumors that we will see a Galaxy Note 6 camera revolution, but they might not be the case either.

We already know that Samsung is hard at work on a 1/1.7inch type sensor to use in an upcoming smartphone, and even more exciting is the f/1.4 lens, which is just mind-boggling.

Both of these camera components show how determined Samsung are in winning the camera development war in their smartphones, but that’s where the good news ends.

The reason we say this is because even though this new technology may not find its way in the upcoming Galaxy Note 6, it’s not looking too good for the S8 either.

Ok, we know that the Galaxy S8 camera will advance once again, but it will be more of an evolution rather than a revolution. We do like the fact that Samsung are looking to make amazing advancements in smartphone camera technology, but if the Galaxy Note 6 or S8 miss out, then how much longer will we have to wait?

The other issue is that the iPhone 7 camera is sure to be even better than the 6s, although that might not be too much of an issue either. The reason being, Apple might wait until the iPhone 8 for its camera revolution, which could be released as early as next year to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the device, and so Apple could very well skip the 7s.
