Elio Motors news with unrealistic delivery date

By Peter Chubb - Apr 29, 2016

People have been waiting for more Elio Motors news in regard to their three-wheeled vehicle startup, and we were treated to some new details yesterday, April 28. While there were three things to be taken from the latest information, it was those delivery dates that stood out to us.

Elio Motors say that the chassis design is done and are now at the final design stage, and now aims for deliveries to begin by the end of this year – which we still feel is a bit ambitious.

Cause for concern – Elio did say that they will see 100 pre-production vehicles by the end of 2016, but this will surely take special clearance from insurance carriers and lawyers, not unless customers will sign waivers because of the risks involved in driving around in a preproduction model.

The next step will be for Elio to start testing its strange new vehicle for safety, along with ride dynamics, which could could go one of two ways, very well or throw up a few surprises.

No matter what we are told though, there are still skeptics out there that do not believe we will ever see these vehicles go into production, and that Elio Motors is nothing more than a scamsomething that we do not agree with in any way.

It’s for this reason that while there are so many of you out there that are a fan of the E-Series vehicles and will want to buy one, they will not part with any form of money until it is officially released.
