Squarespace down on April 20 with 503 service unavailable message

By Peter Chubb - Apr 20, 2016

Squarespace, which is the SaaS-based content management system and cohosts of website builder, hosting service and a blogging platform is currently down today, April 20, 2016.

With the Squarespace down today this means that users are unable to gain access to their services in order to complete their blogs or even maintain their websites, which is a huge blow.

We are uncertain how long it will be down for, but it’s been several hours since Squarespace users have been able to login, as they currently get the 503 service unavailable message.

Squarespace not working

Users have already inundated Squarespace support with emails asking for the service to be fixed, as they are unable to see their website. This is certainly bad timing, as we know many of the websites hosted on Squarespace were running promotions today.

We are not certain how long Squarespace will not be working for, although we guess engineers are already working hard to get things up and running once again.

Squarespace down on April 20

  • Yeah I lost two hours work this morning and then saw on Twitter that it wasn’t a problem on my end. These things happen from time to time, as long as they get it back up today I should be ok but I really feel for the companies running promotions etc, I wonder if they will seek compensation? Could get messy.

On the few times I’ve had to contact the help support I’ve found them to be excellent so I hope people keep a lid on the rage, I’m sure it will be sorted soon.
