Oh dear it does seem as though Hotpoint are going to have to pay out yet more money because of a new round of recalls that not only involve Hotpoint washing machines, but also Indesit dishwashers, Cookers and Ovens, along with Creda tumble dryers as well.
It’s only been a few months since the tumble dryer fire warning that sparked (excuse the pun) a safety recall, and now there are more models to add to that list, although for various reasons.
According to Hotpoint, there is a low fire risk for some of their washing machine models due to a technical issue built from 2007 to 2009, which means none of them are on sale anymore. While there is no list, we ask that you visit this page to check to see if you have a model that may need to be recalled.
Hotpoint and Indesit have also issued a safety notice for some of their dishwashers because of an electrical component that could potentially fail. If this were to happen, then the dishwasher may overheat and also cause a fire hazard. Find our here if your model has been affected.
Whirlpool now owns Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda and have since learned that some of their tumble dryers built between April 2004 and September 2015 could overheat and become a fire risk – do you see the theme here?
They have put a service action plan in place and will arrange for an engineer to visit your home to make a modification to make certain your appliance is safe. You can still use the tumble dryer, but you are asked to not leave it unattended. More details can be found on this dedicated page, along with the ability to check your model.
Finally, the Indesit Company has shared a list of gas cooker models built from October to November 2013 because of a faulty component that could also cause a safety hazard. If the component were to fail, then there is a small risk that gas could leak and yes you guessed it, there is the risk of a fire. You can see a list of model and serial numbers on this safety notice page.
We would advise you to check your model right away to minimize the risk of fire.
