Turn off the feature that’s killing your data allowance!

No matter what smartphone you own there will be times when you just wished the battery life would last that little bit more, in fact some iPhones might never last long enough after a new iOS update. This can be due to a bad install and needing a clean install, or it could even be just one setting called WiFi Assist.

There’s one feature in iOS 9 that might be burning your data allowance and you will find it under Settings and then Mobile Data. Head right down to the bottom and look for a setting called “WiFi Assist”, you might want to turn this off due to it automatically switching to mobile data when your Wi-Fi connection is poor.

You might even be at home with parts of your home network having bad signal and this would result in mobile data being used, yes even at home. This isn’t ideal and in fact could be burning your data allowance and maybe even costing you a lot of money.

Most of Product Reviews readers will know about this setting by now, but if you’re new to iOS 9 or just purchased an iPhone, then we recommend changing this setting to off.

This setting can also impact battery life. If you are happy with your iPhone battery life and have a lot of data included in your plan, then this feature could be useful and worth leaving on.
