Bugatti Chiron top speed will make for good review

By Peter Chubb - Jan 2, 2016

When Bugatti released the Veyron it started to break all kinds of records, such as being the fastest production car. However, that was hotly contested with other cars trying to take that crown. However, the Bugatti Chiron top speed will blow any compitition away, if we are to believe the performance figures being rumored.

According to one report, the top speed of the Veyron successor will be over 290 miles per hour. That is a mind boggling figure, however there will be room for the Bugatti Chiron to reach over 300mph, seeing as though there is 500 km/h (311 mph) on the speedometer.

Bugatti Chiron debut

A magazine from the Czech Republic claims that the top speed will be 467 kilometers per hour and will get to 62 miles per hour in just 2.2 seconds, which is shockingly quick.

This sort of top speed will make for a great Bugatti Chiron review, and we have to wonder if James May will get the chance to go for it when the new Amazon car program begins later this year? Having said that, we know that Jeramy Clarkson also test drove the Veyron, and maybe we might get to see one of those challenges from the three of them this year?

What will allow the Chiron to achieve such performance is a mix of raw power from the 8.0-liter W16 engine, and a couple of turbochargers to produce more than 1,500 horsepower. However, we cannot forget the importance of its aero package to allow the car to slip through the air and also keep as stable as possible.
