Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Batch 2 games update

By Alan Ng - Nov 30, 2015

We know many of you are waiting for Microsoft to let everyone know when the new Xbox One backwards compatibility games list will be announced.

We already gave you a preview of this earlier this month here, with Microsoft confirming that the Xbox One backwards compatibility batch 2 list would include AAA titles such as Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite, Halo Reach, Halo Wars and Skate 3.

Now, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has given gamers an update by revealing that new games for Xbox One backwards compatibility will be announced each month as a new ‘event’ from this point onwards.

In other words, there will be no long gaps between new games becoming available. We are also assuming that the second batch of games will be on top of whatever is announced for Xbox Games with Gold on Xbox 360 – which are now playable on Xbox One of course.

It is all great news for Xbox One owners to hear as games are going to keep on coming, so if you are disappointed with a particular month’s list – there will always be the chance for the said game to come the following month.

Some of the highly requested games from the community are Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, Oblivion and Left for Dead 2 – it is going to be amazing when these top tier games finally arrive for absolutely free.

It will be like going back 10 years when gamers actually receive free content for nothing. As we wait for the next announcement, give us your own wishlist below on what Xbox 360 discs you still have and are ready to play on Xbox One.

    And maybe also prototype II

Well, the individual halo games would be quite a welcome addition, but I think the COD series should be brought in, particularly the newer ones.(AW, Ghost, BOII.. Etc…)

Make Forza 4 available, that’s all I’m looking out for.

Monaco is great, bastion, thief, red faction : guerrilla, hitman :absolution, speedrunner, dust, bully. Pretty much in that order is my priority.
    Edit: Goty, skyrim?

Halo Wars 1, Halo Reach, Halo Anniversary, (Yes, the Halos I know), Red Dead Redemption, The Burnout games, Need for Speed games, Just Cause (1 and 2?)

Just Cause 2 is already available, Halo Reach and Wars have already been confirmed, as well as Burnout Paradise. Looks like you’re off to a decent start.:)

I would really like to see new vegas, kinda disappointed that it didn’t come up with FO3. Also I know Force unleashed wasn’t received well, but they were fun games at least. Also disappointed that we only got AC2 and not the original or AC Brotherhood, basically I think it would be prudent for ubisoft to release all the 360 ACs and FCs. I own farcry 3 and really miss playing, and I’m still not willing to spent 60 dollars on the new one

They won’t be “free”…. You still have to own either the disc, or have bought the game digitally on x360….

At no point did MS *ever* say they would be free…

I’d really like to have the skylanders franchise be available my son has all of them on xbox 360 and possible xbox one for Christmas so you get the idea.

Bioshock trilogy is a top franchise in my eyes. Because of them and Halo reach its going to be a great month.
