If you do not like the idea of having to plug in a streaming device in order to get extra content, but are unable to pay the price for a full on Smart TV, then maybe you need to find a compromise. One idea is to consider the LG 55LF5700 55-inch Roku TV, because although it does lack a lot of those high-end model features, you do get the added edition of what Roku brings to the table.
The LG 55″ Class LED, 1080p Smart HDTV Roku TV as it is described does not come with the amazing specs and features that you usually get from a high-end Smart TV, but they are enough to help improve your viewing experience. Do not let that put you off though because this model still has a lot to offer, such as its deep blacks and rich colors from that 55-inch panel.
To get the best from this TV you will need to either stream Full HD content or connect up a Blu-ray player in or order to experience amazing color and details.
As for those other LG 55LF5700 specs, it has a 60Hz refresh rate for improved performance, 1920 x 1080 resolution, Dolby Digital and built-in WiFi. Like we said above, it does have Smart features, but just seems to lack the full array of Smart features that you get from high-end LG TV models.
Having said that, you can still gain access to the likes of Netflix, Youtube and a huge selection of apps for even greater enjoyment.
You also get the Roku remote, although this is made of cheap plastic; but do not let that worry you because you can do away wth that in favor of using the Roku app to control the TV.
Looking on the Best Buy website we can see that the LG 55LF5700 55-inch Roku TV reviews are mixed, as some of them have given it a high star rating, whereas others have rated this TV badly. However, many of those negative comments come from when the Roku service keeps going down, although surely that is not an issue with the TV itself?
Have a look at those reviews and let us know if they will help you with your buying decesion?
