Changhong UD55YC5500UA 4K TV review warning for gamers

By Alan Ng - Nov 20, 2015

We have some information to share now, for those that are once again considering to buy a new Changhong 55″ Class UHD LED TV UD55YC5500UA which are sold online at Newegg.

Every year we talk about these models and now just in time for the 2015 sales period, we can see that many of you are interested in buying the 55-inch 4K Changhong TV that could be available for a low price.

With this in mind, we wanted to give you a heads-up warning from Changhong UD55YC5500UA 4K TV consumer reviews that there are some worrying factors to take into consideration before purchasing.

The biggest of which is that these Changhong 4K TV models suffer from significant input lag, which is a important factor for those planning to buy this as a gaming TV.

If you read through the vast Changhong UD55YC5500UA reviews at Newegg, nearly all of them list terrible lag as cons which you really need to be aware of.

On top of this, you should also know that this model is nowhere to be found on the Changhong USA website. This is bizarre with a company as big as Changhong to not feature tech specs and support for consumers to look through.

This TV was also being sold last year, which means that Changhong has had over a year to update their website with official information for this model – which they have yet to do.

There is also no Changhong UD55YC5500UA user manual to download either and further reviews we have seen online talk about how the lack of customer service after having purchased has led them to regret their decision to buy.

You can check out the key Changhong UD55YC5500UA specs at Newegg here, which overall are still pretty good for the low asking price – especially if you want 4K quality for TV viewing specifically, not for gaming purposes.

For all the gamers out there though, you may want to take the feedback on board and go for a different option this month. You can also check out the Changhong UD55YC5500UA 4K TV over at ConsumerReports for further insight if you need it.

Don’t forget that the Changhong UD55YC5500UA can only do 4K at 30Hz via HDMI 1.4, which is another reason why this isn’t suitable for gaming.

What are your experiences of the Changhong brand for offering 4K TV quality? Would you agree that this model is not recommended for gaming purposes? Please leave your opinions on this model below for other shoppers to take on board.
