Apex LE40D5 40-inch LED HDTV mediocre specs

By Peter Chubb - Nov 11, 2015

We’ve seen many TV models that cost less than $400 and still do not come with Full HD, so was a little surprised to see that the Apex 40″ LE40D5 LED HDTV come with 1080p, and not 720p like so many budget TV brands.

This might not pack any of the smart features that you get with a TV model that comes with built-in WiFi, but that little problem can be easily resolved with a Roku stick or Chromecast. Once connected you will then gain access to a huge amount of online content.

What confuses us about this model is that you cannot really find it in hardly any stores, which means it is now an older model, although we suspect it could be exclusive to one store, namely Fred Meyer.

Apex LE40D5 TV price

Knowing this, it now makes sense why there are no Apex LE40D5 40-inch LED HDTV reviews. We had assumed to find some, but they are nonexistent.

Having said that, we can still give you a general idea of what this TV has to offer by going over its specs, which starts with that 40-inch 1080p, 1920 x 1080 resolution display.

The TV has a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and a brightness of 200. As for connection, you get 3HDMI inputs, 1 USB, which is for service only, and an RF Input, RCA Composite Video Input, and an L/R Audio Composite Input. there are not really any of those extra features to help improve image or sound quality.

Even though this does sport 1080p, it is still clear to see from those specs above that they are mediocre, but then again we was not expecting something on the same level as you get from Samsungalthough we are sure its price does reflect that.
