We have some more information for you now on the status of Fallout 4 mods for console and PC. It could be good news too with reports suggesting that Fallout 4 may make all mods free for the game after launch.
You may remember that Bethesda initially planned to offer paid-for mods for Skyrim after launch, but ultimately removed that option shortly after launch after a backlash from the community.
Now, we can see from the Fallout 4 EULA that Bethesda has inserted a line in the text that states that Fallout 4 mods that are distributed ‘must be solely free’.
You can see the full EULA for yourself through the link which has already been made public on Neogaf, presumably after early copies hit some users.
The question is whether this means that all Fallout 4 console mods for PS4, Xbox One and PC will be free completely, or if it just means that custom mods which are not the work of Bethesda will be free – i.e, so users cannot be paid for their work.
Some members of the community are suggesting that this could still mean that Bethesda could release their own paid for Fallout 4 mods, but we will have to wait and see.
What are your thoughts on this and which side do you support – paying local developers for their amazing custom mods, or having mods free at all costs regardless?
