Surface Book price drop for one option

By Peter Chubb - Oct 23, 2015

While the Surface Book has yet to be released, although will be very soon, there has already been a kind of price drop, as a new, cheaper model will be available to purchase. This new model will be a low-end offering that comes with a discrete Nvidia Graphics Processor Unit.

This new base Surface Book model will come with an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. This discrete GPU is said to offer increased pixel shifting muscle when compared to integrated graphics.

Another Surface Book variant

Now comes the best bit, and that is the new Surface Book variant price, as it is to cost $1,499 in the US and around £970 in the UK. However, if you include dedicated graphics, this price would be $1,699 or £1,100.

We are not sure what the discrete GPU actually means, but from what Tech Radar has found out, it has the same sort of power as the Nvidia GeForce 940M. The good news is that the price that we mentioned above will be pretty much the same as the model with the i5 processor and 256GB storage option.
