Samsung Galaxy View tablet specs expectations

By Alan Ng - Sep 7, 2015

Apple may be preparing for their big event this week, but we can see that consumers elsewhere are more concerned about what Samsung has up their sleeves with regards to the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy View tablet specs list.

This large tablet was teased at the end of IFA 2015 and Samsung purposefully kept fans guessing by deciding not to give out any additional information other than its name.

What we did see in the teaser image though, is something that looks like a kickstand on the back which also bears a resemblance to the Surface Pro kickstand form.

Another observation that we can see is that the Galaxy View tablet may not have a physical home button – good news for those that love to keep their exterior tablet designs as plain as possible.

The Galaxy View display screen could turn out to be 18.4-inch tablet that has been rumored recently – it certainly looks huge and fits Samsung’s brief description of “think bigger” and a tablet that would offer “a new dimension of entertainment”.

What else can we expect though in terms of Samsung Galaxy View hardware specs? If this beast really does have an 18.4-inch screen then Samsung are going to market it as one of the ‘world’s first’ – thus commanding a premium price point.

Assuming that’s the case then fans will expect some rather powerful specs under the hood to justify paying over the odds. Rumored specs include a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

However if Samsung are going to be making this one of their most expensive tablets on the market, then surely 3GB at a minimum is going to be expected rather than 2GB which is now outdated by today’s standards.

We actually wouldn’t be surprised if the Galaxy View tablet came with 4GB of RAM. Earlier this Summer there was actually a tablet that sneaked through benchmarks as the Samsung Chopin tablet.

This mystery device was benchmarked as having 4GB of RAM, as well as an Intel Atom-based processing system – could this end up being the same tablet in question?
