We already knew what the new Office for Mac 2016 looked like, although we had been kept waiting for its release. Thankfully that day came yesterday when the Office for Mac 2016 download went live, and before you ask, it is not for the standalone version, but the subscription version.
This means that if you wish to make use of the software, then you will need an Office 365 subscription, the price of which is $9.99 per month or $99.99 for the year. We can understand that many of you have an issue with paying for a subscription and so would much prefer the standalone version, which you will have to wait until the fall in order to enjoy it.
The Office 2016 for Mac one-time purchase price has been a hot topic of conversation, and it will be interesting to find this out, seeing as though I am still using the 2011 version, so a bit out of date. Having said that, it still does all that I need, so I’m not in any rush to update my version of Office for Mac.
Back to the Office 2016 for Mac release and there are three apps that make up this suite and these are Word, PowerPoint and Excel and are available in 139 countries and even more impressive, 16 languages. It is also worth noting that these new apps now take full advantage of the full screen mode in OS X.
