Shenmue 3 release date in 2017 not 100% certain

For those of you who have already backed Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter and are now wondering when Shenmue 3 will be out on PS4 and PC, we can bring you some news on the Shenmue 3 release date from creator Yu Suzuki himself.

If you have been following the Kickstarter campaign, you’ll probably know that the game was given an initial schedule of late 2017 from Yu Suzuki.

Now though, we can see that there has been an update to the page which now states that although the development team are confident of meeting their release target – the schedule may change.

Then again, it’s understandable given the fact that the initial $2 million has been smashed already and now YS Net are in the situation where they will be adding new content based on the growing demand and funding for the game.

If more money is pledged, then more content is obviously coming and it probably means that the developers will need longer to make the game compared to their first revision.

Don’t forget that there’s also the possibility of an Xbox One version being added via stretch goal, so even that may prolong the release further if Yu Suzuki decides to go down that route.

We shouldn’t get too worried about that though, as we are still at an early stage. Shenmue 3 is definitely coming so let’s be thankful about that first and foremost.

Does waiting 3 years to play the game from now sound scary to you or are you happy to wait as long as it means more content added to the original plans?
