We can see that many of you are asking the question ‘Why don’t I have the Get Windows 10 App?’ at the moment in your task bar. This is the new app released by Microsoft which prepares your computer for the upcoming Windows 10 upgrade – but not everyone has it.

With this in mind, we just wanted to give you a heads-up that there are a few reasons why you wouldn’t have the app enabled on your computer.

Microsoft has detailed an FAQ about Windows 10 and included on it is some specific information on how to enable the Get Windows 10 App on 7 and 8.1 with an update.

For starters, you won’t see the app if your computer or device is not running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 – you can get Windows 7 SP1 if you still need it here.

Although it may seem like a given, you also need to ensure that your device is connected to the internet otherwise you won’t see the Get Windows 10 app either.

Another important factor is that you need to be running a genuine copy of Windows, otherwise you definitely won’t see the app in the task bar.

It’s a good idea to turn on Windows automatic updates as this will trouble shoot the situation for you, help you to meet most of the requirements and then have the app ready for when Windows 10 launches on July 29.

Let us know how you get on with this and if you are still having problems getting the app to show up.
