AMD Radeon R9 M370x Mac review with GTA V, MKX, Skyrim
The initial AMD Radeon R9 M370X review we published last month looked at Apple’s new 15-inch MacBook Pro and its specs, new features, as well as the graphics inside. Today, we want to offer gamers some insight into how this new 2015 MacBook handles the likes of Grand Theft Auto V, Mortal Kombat X, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Having played all three of these games on PS4 and of course last generation consoles for Skyrim, it’s interesting for us to see how the new MacBook Pro gameplay looks with the AMD Radeon R9 M370x running graphics processing. We can see others feel the same way, so let’s take a look at three gameplay videos showing the titles on Apple’s latest Mac laptop.
Above, you can see a screenshot from MKX running on the new 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro and with AMD Radeon R9 M370x settings demoed before launching the game. You can see over 8 minutes of gameplay within the first review video below, obviously this MacBook is running Windows 8.1 to play each of the games. In-game graphics settings are also seen before the gameplay starts.
The 2015 MacBook Pro specs can be seen before some of the videos start and these include a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with 6MB L3, 512GB of flash storage, 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM, Intel Iris Pro Graphics, an ISP display at 2880×1800 pixels, and the AMD Radeon R9 M370x graphics processor, which many of our readers know runs with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
In the second video you see gameplay for GTA V and this reveals how the open world game performs on Apple’s new Retina MacBook Pro, as well as the third video showcasing Skyrim with the same setup. Take a look and then share a comment with your thoughts on performance.
