Apple’s iCloud News Publisher sign up

By Daniel Chubb - Jun 9, 2015

After watching the WWDC keynote you might be wondering how to publish your content in the iOS 9 Apple News app? In this article we can reveal the process for a publisher to get their content in the Apple News app, as the world’s biggest technology company has detailed how to sign up to this new service.

How to sign up to Apple News with built-in iOS 9 app – firstly, you need to know the first beta doesn’t include this app. Our in-house developer explained that the new Wallet and Find Friends apps are included with iOS 9 beta 1, but the news app isn’t. If you want to get your content in the Apple News app, then you only need to head to this page and sign in with your iCloud/iTunes account login.

Apple call this service officially, “iCloud News Publisher” and it comes with a special Apple News format. After signing in, you will first need to accept some “Terms and Conditions” and then before adding RSS feeds, you receive a message about the Apple News format “Coming Soon”.

You can still add standard RSS news feeds while we wait for the Apple News format release date, which will allow for more crafted layouts and the ability to customize content with styling. This will make your content look its best on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Macs, and other Apple devices. Once connected, your content management system like WordPress will feed content directly to the Apple news app.

Apple iCloud News Publisher release date – the launch isn’t yet known and considering the app cannot be found in iOS 9 beta 1, it’s a safe bet to expect this new publisher service to launch before the iOS 9 public release date in September, 2015. This will allow Apple to build content from thousands of sources before the public download its latest OS, and of course Product Reviews will let our readers know what beta receives the news app right away.
