We have some interesting news to bring to owners of Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae now, the demo that shipped exclusivity with first run copies of Final Fantasy Type 0 HD.
Square-Enix has revealed the surprising news that they plan to issue an update to that demo. It’s officially going to be known as Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 and will now be available in June.
How many times can you recall a developer patching a demo, as we can’t think of any? We’re not just talking about bug fixes either, as Square-Enix has listened to the community and are planning to offer a new targeting system, an improved and more stable framerate, better camera and dodging controls.
These are just some of the initial new features for the FFXV demo 2, as Square-Enix said that more improvements are coming.
The developer also said that at the moment, there is a potential barrier in the way due to the unique nature of updating a demo. Square-Enix said that they need to first seek approval from first parties, i.e Sony and Microsoft before pushing forward.
We think it’s fantastic though that Square-Enix are planning to update the demo. While we still don’t have a release date yet for the full game, it’s refreshing to think that we will soon have a new version of the demo to play in June.
Did you finish Episode Duscae yet? Let us know your thoughts on this and your suggestions on how you would personally improve the demo – Chocobo riding perhaps?
