The Fiat 595 Competizione Abarth was introduced in certain markets back in January, while its launch in India was not expected to happen until February. However, we are now in May and still no sign of this even sportier version of the Fiat 500.
However, we now have news about the Fiat 595 Competizione Abarth availability in India thanks to Overdrive, as it is set for release in July, although the Italian carmaker has yet to share its price in India. Previous rumors did suggest a cost of INR 25-30 lakhs.
Fiat has not had a good time in Indian, and so the carmaker hopes that the introduction of the 595 Competizione will turn its fortunes. Having always been a fan of the 500, I do hope things change for Fiat in India, and with specs such as a 1.4-litre T-Jet unit that produces 158 horsepower at 5,500rpm, as well as 230Nm of torque at 3,000rpm with Sport Mode selected the ingredients are all there.
Keeping this sporty little car stuck to the road are a set of 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli PZero 205/40 tires mated to them. Its handling and overall performance needs to be special, as its main competitor will be the Mini Cooper 3-door.
Do you believe that this new model from Fiat will do well in India once released in July?
