No Man’s Sky Xbox One hopes dashed again

By Alan Ng - May 15, 2015

We haven’t spoke about No Man’s Sky since the Game Awards, but we can see that the game is back in the headlines this week.

For those who are still holding on to the hope of an Xbox One launch, this may now be even further away as PlayStation UK has confidently stated that No Man’s Sky is going to be treated ‘as a first-party title’.

The game is being developed and published by Hello Games and so far has only been confirmed for release on PS4 and Windows. As stated at E3 though, Sony will have a timed-exclusive on console so PS4 owners are definitely going to be getting the first chance to play the game.

Back in March, ID@Xbox director Chris Charla publicly stated that he would love to see No Man’s Sky on Xbox One, but admitted that it was solely up to the developer.

With Sony now saying that No Man’s Sky will be treated as a first-party release, it looks like Hello Games are only working closely with Sony at this point.

There’s no release date for the PS4 version yet, but it is supposed to be due out in 2015 so the information may come at Sony’s E3 conference next month.

No Man’s Sky looks full of potential though, so if you are an Xbox One owner reading this let us know how you feel about it.

    No offense

There is very little between what both the consoles run with. If the game was made for XBOX then PS4 all the’d need to do isd umb down the graphics, sync the mot-cap and make a blue box instead of a green one and before i get hate. Its true. Plus the game is written in C++, B oth consoles read this. SONY have tried to buy exclusivity, but the potential was to far. windows is Xbox. Xbox hasnt been announed because they recently began script conveersions. Its still before pre alpha. This will only change if they cannot fit it into there dedicated production times. With my job Ive witnessed the rise of indie games. Microsoft are very supportive and even with indie games i know will fail , devs are given workers and the space and equipment. Dont talk about Fanboys when it sounds like you r one 4 PS. Goodbye

Xbox fan boys say PS4 has no exclusives and yet here they are begging and hoping No Man’s Sky can come to Xbone.

Xbox fan boys want indie games yet Microsoft is the one who bullies indie devs and has an indie parity clause. This is why Xbox fan boys are so pathetic. lol

Or you could just buy a ps4 and get the console it was designed for. Both consoles have their own exclusives and personally im not a fan of ported games. Developers are better suited to spending their time making the game as good as possible on the console its designed for rather than dubbing it down and trying to fit the shoe on another foot. Also if it is developed for PC there is still no guarantee it will hit the Xbox.

You do know that MS have confirmed they are working on streaming PC games TO Xbox One as well as from Xbox One right ?.
Anyone with an Xbox One and just a medium pc will be able to play games on Xbox One at far higher resolutions than Xbox and PS4

Once this happens and all the other things windows 10 integration is going to bring if the other consoles can’t somehow find a way to match it they will be in trouble.

  • Bramstons

So it’s not exclusive and will also be on Windows, (we don’t even know if the game s any good yet)

Windows 10 is set for July and it is set to be integrated into the Xbox One soon after, there is no way games on PC will not also be going to Xbox One thereafter, they will be able to port the games over with ease.

Xbox fan boy wishful thinking. It doesn’t matterif No Man’s Sky is on PC. Microsoft doesn’t own PC. PC and Xbox One are two different platforms.

If you want No Man’s Sky on a console, you should buy a PS4.

they do own WINDOWS, which it specifically says its coming to. it’s not a stretch to think it’s coming to xbox. but go ahead and keep talking from yer high horse.

      • Bramstons

Think I would rather get an Xbox One for Scalebound than this indie title.

Phil Spencer has already made it quite clear they are also working on streaming PC games TO the Xbox One as well as from the Xbox One, once the Windows 10 is integrated later this year anything on PC can be ported with ease but even better will be the game streaming from PC to Xbox, you will only need a medium PC to run all the games at far better quality than the Xbox and ps4.

If they are developing it with for Windows also. All they have to do is port the game to the Xbox.
