Production of the 2015 Jaguar XE saloon has finally begun today, and so will not be long before this new model goes head-to-head with the BMW 3-Series. The first unit has already rolled off the line, which is a huge deal for the carmaker, as there is a lot riding on it.
This means that production has now increased even more at the Solihull plant, although a huge investment in facilities and workforce made certain that production of this new Jaguar would go as smoothly as possible.
Customers are not expected to get their hands on the new Jaguar XE until May, and so this will be the true test of how it compares to the 3-Series, although early reviews do show great promise. However, it will also be interesting to see how the XE compares to the Audi A4 and the Mercedes C-Class.
While it is always good to offer some unique features in a new model to try and counter rival models, like that of Audi, BMW and Mercedes, Jaguar believes that offering a decent servicing program and reducing running costs is more important for the fleet market, and so has come up with some great options.
Autocar has a full 2015 Jaguar XE price breakdown for each model, along with their performance and fuel economy figures.
If you are interested in one and would like to see what options are available, then why not have a go at building your own.
