Galaxy S6 Edge encounters iPhone 6 in drop test

Whenever a new phone is launched most people look how it compares to another flagship handset in terms of its design and hardware, although some of you also like to know just how tough they are as well. It is for this very reason why we always enjoy seeing a drop test, even if it means destroying a couple of decent, expensive handsets.

When it comes to rivalry, it is Apple and Samsung that are the biggest in the smartphone market, and so it makes sense to see how the new Galaxy S6 Edge compares to the iPhone 6 (not the Plus) in a drop test. You can also check out how they compare in terms of their cameras.

In the Galaxy S6 Edge vs. iPhone 6 drop test video it becomes very clear that one of the handsets is far better at taking punishment than the other, and we were surprised to see that the iPhone 6 never faired too well in these tests, well one.

Like all tests they are done at various heights, with the first being from waist height, which helps to replicate if you dropped your phone when removing it from your pocket. The second test was done at head height, and the third from 10-foot.

We cannot understand why you would need to know how these phones would cope with a drop from the other two heights, as the first is more plausible, although consumers do seem to enjoy such drop tests?

Both phones do very well in the first test at waist height, but it is at the ten-foot drop that the iPhone 6 came out a bit worse for wear, as it shattered far more than the Galaxy S6 Edge.
