Amazon Fire HD update brings HDX feature

While the world awaits another hardware update to the Amazon Fire tablet line due to dwindling sales, this has not stopped Amazon from giving current Fire HD tablets an update. Before you get too excited, it’s not any improvements in terms of performance, but rather just the one new feature that HDX users already enjoy, which is Amazon’s Firefly.

The new Amazon Fire HD tablet software update is not due for its OTA for another few weeks, but at least owners will finally be able to see what all the fuss is about, as both HDX and Fire Phone users already enjoy using Firefly.

For those that do not know, Firefly allows users to recognize movies, music, songs and so much more, and also allows them to purchase them easily and quickly if need be.

What we don not know is the version of this update, is it 4.5.3 still, or will it be 4.5.4? Android Police do not actually state this, and so we will have to wait to hear from Amazon closer to when the update becomes available to download.
